Adult Bible Studies

Who: All Adults

The Wednesday evening adult Bible study serves as a mid-week oasis from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is a time for intentional focus upon God’s Word. This is seen as a very important aspect of discipleship, as we cannot underestimate the power of God’s Word. As the apostle Paul teaches us, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17, NKJV). Also, as the author of Hebrews declares: “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb. 4:12, NKJV).

Bible study not only serves to provide a diet of solid spiritual food, but it also serves as a valuable source of fellowship where “iron sharpens iron” (i.e. Prov. 27:17, NKJV). Here at The Bridge Fellowship Centre, Bible study is generally well attended with many participants of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

We encourage you to join us from 7:00-9:00 pm, (doors open at 6:30 pm) and no child-care is available. Snacks and coffee/tea are available. A typical Bible study evening consists of prayer and worship, and considerable time is spent discussing Biblical truths.

Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, shake yourself from the dust, arise, O captive Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion. For thus says the LORD: “You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money”    Isaiah 52:1-3

From the beginning, The Bridge has served the women of the community faithfully through various outlets. This has included card-making, sewing, spa & movie nights, individual prayer & mentorship, and retreats. In building on the already existing foundation, a new season of the women’s ministry began in the summer of 2013. The Lord directed the leadership to Isaiah 52 and "Arise" was birthed - a weekly spirit-filled gathering for women and children.

"Arise" takes place on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. We share a meal, worship Jesus together, share testimonies, and pray together. One of the most treasured parts of our gatherings is when women’s groups from around the city come and volunteer, providing the supper meal and sharing in the evening. By including a corresponding ministry for the children of the women who attend, the moms of the community can come and freely receive ministry. We continue to call on the Lord, seeking Him and His direction. We know and continue to see that when we focus on Jesus, the women arise in their identity in Christ and as daughters of the most high God.

Individual Mentorship/Prayer Ministry

This is one of the many places where we have the opportunity to exercise the Call of the Lord to “Meet the people where they are at and accept them as they are, for us God’s Body to come together to share His unconditional love.”

Individual Mentorship & Prayer Ministry might look different for each person. The Lord has provided us with many teaching tools and with a very gifted team of people to meet the many needs that are presented.
